Demanding Respectful Birth on Staten Island

Demanding Respectful Birth on Staten Island

Some New Yorkers think that attacks on reproductive rights and health are confined to far-away places such as Alabama and Tennessee. But right here in New York City, a hospital is arguing and courts are so far accepting the idea that there is a point in pregnancy when patients lose their rights to bodily integrity and medical decision-making. During this panel discussion, you will learn about what you can do to ensure dignity, justice, and personhood for everyone including pregnant patients – whether they are giving birth, experience a miscarriage or have an abortion.

Sign our petition (bit.ly/NAPWDRAY) demanding the doctors at Northwell Health (NY's largest hospital system) honor the decisions of pregnant patients and uphold their rights.

Panelists include:
Lynn M. Paltrow, JD, Founder and Executive Director of National Advocates for Pregnant Women
Efe Osaren, CD, CLC, Midwife Assistant, Reproductive/Birth Justice Advocates and Full Spectrum Doula
Katy McFadden, CNM, RNC-NIC, Midwife, Former NICU RN and "whistleblower" and activist in an epicenter of the infant/maternal mortality crisis
